Community In addition to investing in our business and our people, we also invest in our communities, recognizing that we have a role to play in making a difference in the cities where we live and work.

Charitable outreach is at the core of Anheuser-Busch’s business philosophy and has been since 1906 when the company donated money to the American Red Cross to support those impacted by the San Francisco earthquake.

  • Since 1997, Anheuser-Busch and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation have contributed nearly $475 million to charitable organizations, including those that support education, the environment, economic development and disaster preparedness/relief.
  • Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has packaged more than 71 million cans of emergency fresh drinking water and donated it following natural disasters.
  • In 2011, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, employees and vendors donated more than $4.5 million for United Way’s health and human services agencies.  A-B continues to be one of the top corporate donors to United Way of Greater St. Louis.
  • Anheuser-Busch’s support of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) over the last three decades has helped more than 20,000 students earn a college degree.  The Anheuser-Busch Foundation continued the tradition in 2011 by donating nearly $400,000 to HSF through various programs.
  • In 2011, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation donated $325,000 to United Negro College Fund (UNCF), including a $50,000 donation as part of a special initiative during the Super Bowl in Dallas to benefit college students throughout Texas.

Many employees also give countless hours to help worthy organizations.  We applaud their commitments and support their efforts through various employee volunteer programs, such as building with Habitat for Humanity, cleaning up rivers during World Environment Day and promoting the use of designated drivers on Global Be(er) Responsible Day.
