Alcohol Responsibility Anheuser-Busch is the industry leader in promoting alcohol responsibility. In the last three decades, Anheuser-Busch and our wholesalers have committed more than $875 million in national advertising campaigns and community-based programs.
We believe the beer industry should play a role in promoting alcohol responsibility because no company benefits from the misuse of its products. We believe this collaborative approach, in close partnership with retailers, educators, parents, law enforcement officials, professional sports teams and many other organizations, helps create impactful responsible drinking programs. Our wholesalers also play an important role in our success. They invested more than $15.2 million in 2010 toward executing programs to reach audiences in their local communities. Some examples of our programs are below.
- We join our colleagues around the world in the celebration of Global Be(er) Responsible Day. Last year, more than 1,500 employees visited retail accounts, encouraging adults to “Designate a driver and enjoy the great times!”
- Family Talk About Drinking provides parents with resources to help them establish and maintain and ongoing dialogue with their children about avoiding underage drinking. It includes the Family Talk Parent Guide and the Family Talk Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ABFamilyTalk
.
- Good Sport is a communications, training and management program designed to help stadium operators, team owners and concessionaires promote positive crowd behavior by encouraging fan responsibility at sporting events. The program also promotes safe ride home options and is activated in partnership with 107 teams in Major League Baseball, the National Football League, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League and Major League Soccer.
- Through the We I.D. program, Anheuser-Busch and our distributors offer retailers training and a variety of materials for checking and verifying valid I.D. cards to help prevent the sale of alcohol to minors.
